Juan D’Arienzo (1900-1976)—“The King of the Beat”—introduced dynamic rhythmic structures that made tango music irresistibly danceable, heralding the Golden Age of Tango in the 1930s as Argentine Tango became more popular, hotter and steamier—just like this weekend is going to be! We will focus on interpretation of rhythmic structures and pauses in D’arienzo style of music, and explore techniques to help us transfer our interpretations into our dance.
