This Monday will feature La Juan members sharing what we call (for now) “a surprise seminar” with LIVE demonstration, followed by a dance-hard practica with a surprise 𝗗𝗝\nTellus Fritidscenter — Lignagatan 8, 117 34 (T-Hornstull)\n(more info will come, eventually)\n \nA B O U T\n______________\n𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗻𝘀:\nThe Orquesta Juan D’Arienzo, founded in 2012, pays homage to the pivotal era of Tango in the 1930s to revive the renowned style of Juan D’Arienzo, often referred to as ”El Rey del Compás” (The King of the Beat). Led by bandoneonist Facundo Lázzari, the orchestra features musicians Ricardo Badaracco, Oscar Yemha, and Lucas Pantarotto on violins, Pablo Ginzburg, Emilio Pagano, and Juan Pablo Cravenna on piano, Federico Perez on piano, and Andrés Santarsiero on double bass, with Fernando Rodas as the singer. Over the past decade, the orchestra has embarked on more than 20 tours across Europe, the Americas, and Asia, spreading Tango to countries such as Italy, Germany, Portugal, Denmark, France, England, the US, Canada, Brazil, Colombia, Japan, Taiwan, and beyond. Simultaneously, they have toured extensively within Argentina, showcasing their distinctive Tango style. The orchestra has released three albums: ”Cortando Clavos” (2014), ”Siciliano” (2018), and ”Bienvenido a este sector” (2018), earning the title of the Best Orchestra at the Premios Tango awards in 2018.\n𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘀 / 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀:\nLuis Angel Rojas is an Argentine tango and folklore dancer/teacher, a TDJ and an organizer. He started dancing at an early age and has dedicated his professional life to growing as a teacher and a dancer; studying continuously with important maestros in Buenos Aires. Since 2020, he is based in Ylöjärvi in Finland where he teaches regular tango classes; organizes milongas and events in Tampere, Helsinki and other cities in Europe. He has also toured Argentina, Uruguay, Mexico, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Norway, Sweden, Russia, France and Estonia. He was a semifinalist of the Festival and World Tango BA (𝘍𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘢𝘭 𝘺 𝘔𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘢𝘭 𝘛𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘰 𝘉𝘈) 2018, 2021 and 2022 in Buenos Aires; a finalist of the preliminary London and “Villa Constitucion” of the Festival and World Tango BA 2022; 1st place in Pista Tango in the Official Preliminary Mendoza Championship of Tango BA 2016, obtaining a direct pass to the semifinals of the Tango World Cup 2016; and the winner of the National Folk Contest Atahualpa Yupanqui in the category ”Pareja de Tango” (Rosario).\nCamelia Siljedal is an educated and certified professional in various movement practices such as contemporary dance, tango, yoga, pilates among other things. In 2015, she went to Buenos Aires to study Tango and Spanish and ended up staying there over a year; competed in 𝘊𝘢𝘮𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘰 𝘥𝘦 𝘛𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘰 𝘔𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘢𝘭 in 2015 and went to the semifinal with Walter Trujillo. She performed, toured and taught in Sweden/Norway with Toni Kastelan in 2022-2023; started training in March 2023 with Luis Angel Rojas whom she has been participating in international competitions with (more about that below). She is also a trained player of hardanger fiddle (”hardingfele”) — a national instrument of Norway, which looks like a violin\nTheir dance partnership began with a successful cabaceo at the 𝘛𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘰 𝘍𝘳𝘰𝘴𝘵𝘣𝘪𝘵𝘦 𝘍𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘢𝘭 in Helsinki, February 2023. They have been growing fast as a professional couple since then; they took the 3rd place in UK Tango Championship in June 2023 and became semifinalists in World Championship of Tango in Buenos Aires (𝘊𝘢𝘮𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘰 𝘥𝘦 𝘛𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘰 𝘔𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘢𝘭) in August 2023. They have recently taught together in Berlin.\n
